Boycotting Israel properly
North Korea just exploded a small nuclear weapon; there are concerns that Iran may be next. So what are the liberal, lefty chattering classes foaming about in their media, their meetings, their demonstrations? Why the evil of one of their usual villains, Israel. (The US is their other major country of contempt, naturally.)
Israel's response to Hezb' allah's attack last summer was deemed by them so disproportionate that the country must be punished through boycotts and disinvestment/divestment.
Pro Israel supporters are opposed to this but actually it is a really a terrific idea. Why? Because Israelis have contributed so much to science, technology and medicine, advancing these areas and creating new ones, boycotting the country's products and inventions would render inconvenience for boycotters' lives to such an extent they would be virtually invisible.
Thanks to Israeli innovations those living Israel—free lives must avoid computers, silence their phones and just about disable any other form of communication except maybe, pony express. Hmmm, maybe not even pony express as many veterinary medical discoveries came from. . . . yep, the dreaded Israelis.
A small helpful sample for those who are straining to begin boycotting now; to divest from those companies doing business in or with Israel:
Check all your medications. Make sure that you do not have tablets, drops, lotions, etc., made by Abic or Teva. It may mean that you will suffer from colds and flu this winter but, hey, that's a small price for you to pay in your campaign against Israel, isn't it?
Most of Windows operating systems were developed by Microsoft—Israel. So, set a personal example. Throw away your computer!
Computers should have a sign attached saying "Israel Inside." The Pentium NMX Chip technology was designed at Intel in Israel. Both the Pentium 4 microprocessor and the Centrum processor were entirely designed, developed, and produced in Israel.Voice mail technology was developed in Israel.
The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 in Israel by four young Israeli whiz kids.
And there is more, so much more.
Perhaps without the faithful boycotters interfering in policy, real progress can at last occur.
