NYT blocks British from viewing stories
This is ironic.
The New York Times has withheld publication of an article from UK readers of its website in order to avoid prejudicing a trial. The publisher has used its advertising system to identify the location of UK readers and block the article from them, it said.
The NYT has no problems disclosing investigations to suspect terror groups in America that help them in their efforts to escape prosecution. It has no problem disclosing secret surveillance efforts or financial tracking programs, but will censor itself (this from a paper than enshrines freedom of speech as the paramount Constitutional principle), to protect the rights of defendants in the most recent Islamic terror airliner bombing case in England.
