Whistling past the graveyard?
Aussiegirl has just fired a political missile at President Bush at Ultima Thule. She's fed up with all the political dithering —— over North Korea's nukes, Iran's weapons program, the failure to secure our borders, and much else. She's worried about the survival of our civilization, and believes that President Bush has begun to surrender on all fronts. This is more than just another political essay; it's a cri de coeur from the President's own political base. You may not agree with every point that Aussiegirl makes, but the way she pulls it all together is remarkably powerful.
If Karl Rove and his munchkins are alert, they will pay close attention to Aussiegirl's extraordinary —— and heartfelt —— blast. It's what a lot of Republicans are saying in private, among themselves, when the Washington big—shots aren't around.
