Do as I say now...
... but not as we did then when we could do something
In his current column, John Stoessel makes a point in passing that most of us are familiar with, but we should still not forget.
The Kyoto Protocol, the rejection of which seems to count so much against Bush in the Bushitlerburton circles, was negotiated and signed during the Clinton Administration. That is the Administration of which Al Gore was Vice President.
And it was never submitted by Clinton and Gore to the Senate for ratification because a sense of the Senate resolution had already been voted against it 95 — 0. As Rush would say, for those of you in Rio Linda, that means that no senator — not one — voted in favor of the Kyoto Protocol.
Whatever the benefits of agitprop today, when he was in power, Al Gore took exactly the same position on Kyoto as Bush has. No mas.
