Dispatch from leftist loonyland

Former British defense secretary Lord Healey said yesterday that the United Kingdom should divest itself of its nuclear arsenal.

"I don't think we need nuclear weapons any longer," he said.

So let me see if I get this right. North Korea, Iran and other madcap regimes are all working overtime to get nuclear weapons, but Britain should just now get rid of hers?

Even Jacques Chirac is not mad enough to contemplate something like this. Recently he even threatened to deploy France's nuclear weapons if necessary.

I wish Senator Zell Miller was here to ask the good Lord Healey: 'When the Iranians finally decide to send a couple of nukes your way, how are we going to defend yourselves? With spitballs?'
