The MNF—Iraq website has posted today's press briefing on the Zarqawi autopsy with spokesman MG Bill Caldwell and Command Surgeon Col. Stephen Jones. A forensic specialist in on the autopsy also participated. The briefing article contains several slides illustrating the location & nature of the mortal wounds incurred: how & why he died.  At bottom of article are links to all Zarqawi press releases & briefings, to include an air strike video, and to a pdf file of the entire autopsy briefing.

"A—Zarqawi, Jones said, died from closed space primary blast injuries. These injuries included rupturing of the eardrums along with hemorrhaging in the lungs. Bruises, abrasions and lacerations were also found on the head, body and extremities with a fractured leg."
