The border fence
Our contributor J. James Estrada appears once again in the Arizona Republic op—ed ranks. He advocates a fence as the cheaper alternative, and points to some interesting history:
Building a fence is not a new idea. In fact, it was the Clinton administration that launched Operation Gatekeeper in 1994. This operation called for fences to be erected in California and Texas. It has succeeded in funneling illegal traffic to the largely unprotected borders of Arizona.
