Honoring a monster
Malawi takes money from the EU to build a highway, and then names it after racist Marxist tyrant Robert Mugabe of next door Zimbabwe, the BBC reports. Mugabe remains persona non grata in both the EU and the United States.
Mugabe, because of his land confiscations and terrorizing of farmers, has brought his once lush and agriculturally reporductive nation to the brink of starvation. The road, ironically, was meant to bring food aid into landlocked Malawi via Tanzanian ports.
