A sick culture indeed
European Parliament officials have been hard at work investigating the CIA's efforts to round up terrorists in Europe. Intent on bringing America to justice, the 46—member parliamentary committee of inquiry led by Socialist Italian MEP Claudio Fava, stated this in its latest report:
The CIA has, on several occasions, clearly been responsible for kidnapping and illegally detaining alleged terrorists on the territory of (EU) member states, as well as for extraordinary renditions.
What is shocking about all this is that the Europeans seek to criminalize the actions of those who want to help them. After all, the CIA's purpose is to get those bent on unleashing mayhem in their own midst. This inane behavior is a symptom of a debilitating malaise that has descended upon Europe. Very sick indeed is a culture that prosecutes its protectors while protecting those who plot its destruction.
