"The Unit"
Since I have posted several items here about CBS's The Unit and its "inspiration," the career of retired Command Sgt. Maj. Eric Haney, I feel duty bound to post the following.
On March 26, Haney gave an interview with the Los Angeles Daily News in which he said:
(the war in Iraq) is an utter disaster. The reasons this administration gave for taking this nation to war were not what they stated...we have fomented civil war in Iraq...I think Bush may very well have started WWIII... they (Americans) voted for a second Bush administration out of fear...this administration has worked overtime to divert the American public's attention from it (the war). Their lies are coming home to roost now....
Meantime, an acquaintance of mine, L.H. Burruss, an original member of Delta Force, informs me that Haney's claim that he was a founding member of that unit is bogus. He says that Haney joined 13 months after it was formed. And, he says that Haney was never a Sgt. Major in Delta Force. (Thanks to L.H.B. for passing this on & my salute to you.) Based on all this, if any of you want to stop watching The Unit, that's fine by me.
