Our friends the Saudis

By

In this column, Maureen Dowd cooed over  the Saudi Ambassador to America. She characterized Prince Turki al—Faisal as the "charming new envoy from the royal family." The very same Saudi Ambassador, who founded the Saudi equivalent of the Gestapo, just spoke before the august Council of Foreign Relations. His words of wisdom? Suicide attacks carried out by Palestinians against Israel are "legitimate means of war under occupation."

How charming.

Of course, the Prince is a key power player in the family that owns Saudi Arabia — the same group that paid Al Gore to insult America and pander to the Saudis. The same Al Gore who refused to defend Israel when asked by members of the audience about Israel.

The same Al Gore who condemned America for brutality and insensitivity towards Arabs. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, a key representative from that same group, praises suicide bombers.
