Information war upgrade

By

Understanding the vital importance of information operations, Multi—National Force—Iraq (MNF—I) just upgraded its website, now titled Operation Iraqi Freedom.  The site still contains stories of successes, achievements & heroism which won't be found anywhere else in the media.  And it has links to "Military Newspapers" that most readers have never heard about.  For example:  The Scimitar, The Eagle & The Crescent (USMC), SandScript (the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing), and the Double Deuce (Naval Mobile Construction Battalion—22, Seabees).

Regular readers will see that This Week In Iraq (PDF file), a summary of notable events & operations, with photos & maps, is still on the site.  New features include the "Freedom Journal" found in the "Interactive Iraq" section.  There is also a photo gallery, images of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Marines conducting missions throughout Iraq.

The latest press releases, and an archive of same, can be found at Operation Iraqi Freedom, along with links to relevant stories in other media outlets.  Those interested in the MNF—I command structure will find that info at the site, plus material on the nature of the enemy its forces are fighting.

The lead story now at the site is about 101st Airborne Sgt. Jeremy McDonald, who was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor for actions during a firefight with terrorists.  Though hit 5 times, he continued returning fire & kept firing even as his squad mates were taking him away for medical treatment.

Readers interested in staying current & informed about operations in Iraq should frequent Operation Iraqi Freedom here.
