Andrew Young supports Wal-Mart

By

Congratulations to former UN Ambassador and Atlanta mayor Andrew Young. He has agreed to chair the steering committee of Working Families for Wal—Mart, a group funded by the retailer. Evidently the former aide to Martin Luther King, Jr. understands and will promote the concept that Wal—Mart benefits lower income Americans the most.

It won't be the first time Mayor Young has worked for a big corporation. The New York Sun noted that his consulting firm helped Nike deal with charges of sweatshop exploitation overseas.

The move may also help distance black voters from automatic adherence to Democrat dogma. Unions hate Wal—Mart, and other Dems are supposed to fall in line. But blacks, like everybody else, benefit from Wal—Mart's "Always low prices."

One hundred million Americans vote for Wal—Mart every week. With their money. Smart Democrats see that crusading against Wal—Mart means telling their constituents they are better off without the opposrtunity to shop at Wal—Mart.
