David Duke makes my case

By

Fresh off his trip to Syria where, echoing Joseph A. Wilson IV and some "moderate"media bigshots, David Duke charges Administration officials with dual loyalty:

Former US Louisiana Representative David Duke on Monday expresses solidarity with Syria in face of the pressures and threats against the country.

Duke told a news conference at the 'Nation's Tent' at Rawda Square in Damascus that "I have come to Syria to express my support to the Syrian people and their just stances...it's the duty of every free man to reject the conspiracies and threats Syria is exposed to."

He added that the pro—Israel neoconservatives in the US have influence on their country's foreign policy and have been working behind the scenes through their mass media in the US to hide "the reality of Israeli terrorism against the Arabs."

He criticizes my article on those media  and policital figures who have also impugned the loyalties of American Jews.

Thanks for making my point, David.

UPDATE:  Elixabeth Weber Levy writes to tell us that the the first sentence of the quotation above is misleading:

David Duke never, never represented Louisiana in the US House of Representatives.  Unfortunately, Louisiana, the state perennially 'stuck on stupid,' did have him as a member of the State Legislature.

In 1989, Duke successfully ran against a dear friend of mine, John Treen, the brother of former Louisiana Governor Dave Treen.  Duke's win was deplorable, for John and for the state.  However, residents of Jefferson Parish, who temporarily swerved into idiocy, never sent David the Disgusting to Washington.  In fact, they rather redeemed themselves by sending Bobby Jindal, another dear friend of mine, to Washington, in 2004.

The quotation implies but does not directly state that Duke was in teh US House. We wonder where the Arabic News happened to pick—up the wording they used.
