Back to base
J. Peter Freire advocates a return to conservative policies as the cure for what ails George W. Bush. Solidify the base, in other words. Rush Limbaugh is the most notable commentatorto make the point that the American people will vote for conservatives when conservative policies are unashamedly presented to them by candidates. For whatever reason, many inside the Beltway GOP figures don't seem to agree.
