It isn't easy busting pork

By

Our contributor Rick Moran has posted a heretical essay on his own site, RightWing Nuthouse. He takes on the conservative blogosphere establishment, the heavy—hitters like Michelle Malkin and Glenn Reynolds, who have been promoting a "Porkbusters" effort to identify and target for cuts wasteful federal spending items.

Not that Rick favors the wasteful spending. But he does see clearly the local forces which want these projects, and don't see them as waste. And more importantly, he targets the widespread attitude toward the federal government as the source of amelioration for whatever ails us.

It is a worthwhile read, well—argued.
