CENTCOM Reports

By

The CENTCOM Newsletter for the week of October 10 can be found here.  The world's attention is naturally focused on what appears to be a very large voter turnout for ratification of Iraq's new constitution.  On other fronts, military training and reconstruction projects continue all throughout the CENTCOM area, including Yemen, Djibouti, and Afghanistan.

Of note, the new Afghan Army has begun the second semester of classes at the National Military Academy in Kabul. The Academy started its first class in March of this year, and is a four—year, degree—granting institution. The school will commission second lieutenants for the Afghan Army, and Cadets will earn a bachelor's degree with an emphasis on civil, mechanical, systems or electrical engineering.

This is another huge step forward for Afghanistan and the Coalition that the MSM will ignore.
