We had to
One of the bloggers responsible for publishing the misleading early exit poll numbers now blithely admits she wasn't concerned about their accuracy. "We had to publish exit polls in order to kill them," is Wonkette's Ana Marie Cox's post election rationalization.
Whether or not exit polls are necessary is course irrelevant; most responsible media aim for accuracy. But apparently Cox doesn't care about that——as her belief that the 2004 election will be remembered mainly for the "ragtag bag of conservative bloggers that brought down CBS" indicates. Listen, not all were ragtag——some bloggers are quite well dressed.
Is she is really saying she is just publishing an irresponsible blog, thus joining CBS News into irrelevancy?
