US forces in Fallujah need to watch their six
In an AP report via The Washington Times we learn of a possible terrorist counter—attack in Mosul, and the death throes of the last terrorist cells in Fallujah. As US and Iraqi forces make their final push to defeat the remaining enemy elements in the southwest corner of the town, the AP account mentions an old friend accompanying US units in the fight.
It seems Michael Ware of Time magazine was chosen as an embedded reporter and is with the US 2d Battalion, 2d Infantry Regiment. Regular readers of The American Thinker may remember that Ware has long been up close to the fighting in Iraq; except he was on the side of the terrorists. At the time, Ware was essentially acting as a courier for these thugs, carrying their gruesome video tapes for broadcast by Western media. Admiring their resolve, Ware said,
They're trying to tell the Western public: 'This is what your boys are dying for, this is what they are up against," he said. They are letting us know that, 'We can kill your boys, and we are not going away."
It would behoove the public affairs officer who made this assignment to recheck the background of this so—called reporter. It would also be advisable for the men of 2d Battalion, 2d Infantry to watch their backs.
