Tom Friedman: "A Nobel for Sistani"

Tom Friedman goes off the deep end today in his New York Times column, proposing a Nobel Prize for Sistani:

What Mr. Sistani, the late Lebanese Sunni leader Rafik Hariri and the new Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas all have in common is that they rose to power by focusing on a positive agenda for their own people, not negating another.

How about Abbas denying the Holocaust, etc? I guess Friedman's clever semantics skirt this issue, but this column is another example of Friedman's deliberate skating over unpleasant facts.
