They still don't get it
As noted here yesterday the Brits now have a website in defiance of the bombings in London.
And wouldn't you know, a critic for the New York Times damned it because——get ready for this——"there's a brutish flaunting of wealth and leisure."
Yes, instead of cowering and trembling, instead of wailing Why did we anger the terrorists? Posters from around the world are displaying their anger towards the terrorists.
A few days ago, We're Not Afraid might have been a comfort. Today, there's a hint of "What, me worry?" from Mad magazine days, but without the humor or the sarcasm. We're Not Afraid, set up to show solidarity with London, seems to be turning into a place where the haves of the world can show that they're not afraid of the have—nots.
No, my dear delicate critic——the decent citizens of the world are showing they're not afraid of the indecent, the evil. And your misplaced sensitivity demonstrates you have fallen into the orbit of evil; that you are afraid of them.
As for the Brits, bully for them and all that but, they've just had one terrorist explosion; the Israelis have had many including at least two more today. And of course this is also an everyday occurrence in Iraq.
