The Security Fence Works for Palestinians, Too

By

Israel has been castigated around the world for the erection of a security barrier meant to protect its citizens from terrorist attacks. The media has roundly condemned the barrier, and likened it to an "apartheid wall"; "a prison"; a new Berlin Wall, designed to impoverish the Palestinian people and "force them into Jordan". The International Court of Justice has gone beyond its mandate to hear arguments against the barrier —— such an abuse of its governing rules that most nations have opposed this politicalization of the issue at the Court.

Well... now comes a report that the barrier has actually led to a boom in Jenin, once the capital of terrorism in the West Bank and a town, that as Richard Baehr points out, that has become a rallying cry for those who wish to demonize Israel. Instead, the barrier has done what the Israelis have said it would: reduce conflict with the Palestinians, reduce the tyrannical presence of terrorists who often committed crimes against their own people, and has allowed stability and even prosperity to return.
