The left wing mentality
The strange ways of thinking of the Democrats' left wing often baffle me. Perhhaps it is simply the embrace of anger, which causes them to say absurd things and behave in ...well, bizarre ways. The latest evidence comes in an AP report on President Bush's rally in Minneapolis.
The rally drew Democrat picketers outside. Fine. Counter—demonstrations are absolutely legitimate political tactics. Nobody seems to have threatened them, or cursed at them, or otherwise hassled them as they exercised their free speech rights.
But get a load of what they told AP reporter Patrick Condon:
"You just can't come to Minneapolis," said Shane Kinney. "It's our city — it's not OK for Bush to come here and ask for more votes. It's our city."
You would think that someone bright enough to ties his shoelaces and find the Target Center site of the rally would understand how thuggish this sounds. Apparently not.
