Scapegoat
Led by Michael Moore (how sad is that?), those wits (okay, half—wits) at Air America are going to beat a dead horse...err goat... over President Bush's refusal to panic in front of school children and run off stage, when he first heard of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. Instead, while his aides gathered more information, he calmly continued reading a children's book to the kids...err, make that young 'uns.
Gossipmeister Lloyd Grove reports on the "creative" talent at Air America's intentions:
Remember President Bush and "The Pet Goat" in Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11"? Moore claimed that after learning terrorists had flown passenger jets into the Twin Towers, Bush spent a full seven minutes reciting to Florida schoolchildren from an instructional reading workbook, including such lines as: "A girl got a pet goat. She liked to go running with her pet goat. She played with her goat in her house. She played with her goat in her yard. But the goat did some things that made the girl's dad mad." On Friday at 7 a.m., Air America radio jocks Marc Maron and Mark Riley will read "The Pet Goat" in its entirety on their show, "Morning Sedition." See us laugh. Ha, ha.
No wonder Air America's ratings keep going down.
