"Right" = "bad"?
An editorial in the Chicago Tribune today, concerning the Palestinian election and Mahmoud Abbas, reveals more about the mindset ofаthe editors than it does on the ostensible subject matter. Consider this sentence:
Facing a challenge from the militants, many of whom still believe he is too moderate, Abbas no doubt feels he must tack to the right to win the election.

So, the "right" means maximal demands, calling Israel the "Zionist enemy," supporting terrorists, etc.? Does the "right" even have any place in discussions of the Palestinians and their political culture? Why use it here? The question answers itself.
