Rep. Bobby Jindal

Thrilling news from Louisiana: Bobby Jindal has been elected to Congress. If you don't know him, click on the above link to Powerline and read about a man destined for leadership. I have no doubt that Bobby Jindal will make a huge contribution to the nation when he joins Congress. The sky is the limit.

He is the first, but undoubtedly not the last Indian—American elected to Congress. The rising numbers of immigrants from India have already made a huge difference in high technology and medicine, not to mention the culinary arts, in America. Their rise to prominence is great thing for America, and a great thing for India, too, binding the world's oldest democracy to its largest democracy. The Indo—American alliance is an enormous force for good which has escaped the attention of most in the media.

Congratulations to Representative—elect Jindal, and to the 78% of the voters in his district who elected him.
