Really strange bedfellows

Really strange political bedfellows

Ah, the desperation of the Democratic party is truly something to behold.  In the latest bizarre twist of the adage "Politics makes for strange bedfellows,"  the party's newest celebrity, Senator Barack Obama (IL) has not only apparently endorsed the party's oldest racist, Senator Robert Byrd (W VA), he is begging for contributions for Byrd's next senatorial campaign, a year and a half from now. And these sounds of love emanate from MoveOn PAC.

Yes, the Senate's newest African—American member (Obama's father was from Africa) heaps praise upon a former member of the Ku Klux Klan in the latest email received  from the PAC, a sister organization of MoveOn.org.

Above all, Robert Byrd understands just how sacred the Constitution of our country truly is and fights every day to protect it.

Huh?  Filibustering against basic civil rights for blacks does not and never did protect the sacredness of the US Constitution.  You know this, I know this and certainly Senator Obama, a lawyer, knows this.  But his opposition to George Bush overrides everything.

Amazing——he's in the Senate only two months and already he's become a captive of party politics.
