The Council on Islamic—American Relations (CAIR) is protesting because the popular television series 24, which is about a fictional agency called the "Counter Terrorism Unit" is finally getting around to dealing with Arab terrorists, after its first few seasons dealt with the likes of Serbian and drug lord terrorists.
According to the New York Daily News,
At issue is a scene in which a teenager helps his parents plot to kill Americans.
"What we will accomplish today will change the world," the father tells the son over breakfast.
"We are fortunate that our family has been chosen to do this."
Ahmed [of CAIR] said the scene "casts a cloud of suspicion over every American—Muslim family out there."
Is CAIR pretending that no such families exist? The evidence of the past few years is that terror cells of Arab Islamists do indeed existn America. Asking television networks and the American public to pretend otherwise is over the top.
