Prince Harry

By

I think Quentin Letts, writing on Opinionjounral.com got the Prince Harry/Nazi uniform situation right.

What he surely did not intend to do was to portray himself as an acolyte of the evil master plans of Hitler, Himmler and Goebbels. Yet this was the way the media slant started to go after a fellow partygoer took the covert snapshot and passed it to Rupert Murdoch's republican—minded Sun.

Comparison with the musical The Producers is also apt——I too wondered if people were so blinded by Mel Brooks (who I personally do not think is very funny) that they didn't object to Nazis and their uniforms treated as mere silly buffoons.

Interestingly enough, I read that the party Harry and his maybe future king brother, who symbolically bedecked himself in a lion's outfit, was a nostalgic colonial party.  Now that's equally non politically correct but no uproar there.

Imagine!  I'm sort of defending the royal Brits!
