Polling and polls

Kerry looks like he has picked up a modest bounce (perhaps 2 points) so far from the convention, according to Rasmussen overnight tracking, but the change is small enough to be statistical noise. It would be no great shock nor any great achievement if he were 4—5 points ahead by Friday or the weekend.

An easy win for Coburn in the Oklahoma GOP Senate primary makes him the favorite to retain the seat in the GOP column, given Bush's lead of over 20 points in Presidential  polling in Oklahoma.

Odds for the Democrats winning back the Senate are shrinking rapidly, with South Carolina and Georgia now likely to be GOP pickups. No wonder the Democrats keep highlighting Obama. He is their only sure winner in the key Senate races so far.
