Politicized museums
Along with academia, public schools, librarians, and most of the national media, the museum world has largely gone leftist. To be other than a 'progressive' is to be isolated in professional meetings, and shunned in fund—raising circles, grant—making committees, and all the best parties. The Enola Gay exhibit controversy at the Smithsonian Institution is the most prominent example to date.
But now word reaches us that the federally—funded Underground Railroad Museum has a new exhibit which likens Palestinians to the plight of American slaves of a century and a half ago. Once again the American left chooses to align itself with the worst political causes in the world.
