One of their own taken away
Medea Benjamin, head of Code Pink and other left wing organizations, was hauled off the floor of the Democratic National Convention during Teresa Heinz Kerry's address. Moments after she unfurled a banner reading "End the Occupation of Iraq," she was handcuffed and led off the floor.
The national media seems to have ignored the incident. The indispensible Little Green Footballs website features the story, however. We have no information about the reaction of the crowd. Because surveys have indicated the vast majority of delegates support Benjamin's view, it would be interesting to know their reactions.
