Older blacks trending to GOP
Chicago Sun—Times columnist Mary Mitchell examines the internals of the study from the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies which caused waves by reporting that GW Bush looks ready to double his share of the black vote, to 18%. She finds that older blacks are the ones identifying with the GOP, while younger blacks are even more strongly tending to identify with the Democrats.
Her reasonsing on why this may be the case is particularly interesting, and strikes this white man as pretty astute.
