Yasser Arafat, master terrorist, won the Nobel Peace Prize.  Prior to winning, he spouted hatred at Jews and Israelis, backing this up by leading terrorists to kill and maim civilians and promising to destroy Israel.
After winning the Nobel Peace Prize he rejected peace with Israel, spouted hatred at Jews and Israelis, backing this up with a strengthened intifada as he lead terrorists to kill and maim civilians and promising to destroy Israel.
He still has his Nobel Peace Prize.
 
Former president Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize because he is not President George W. Bush.  He also has his Nobel Peace Prize.
 
No complaints.  Or at least not any worth mentioning. 
But now a woman, an environmentalist, has won the Nobel Peace Prize and she doesn't appear to be overtly anti American.  So now there are some complaints. 
 
So much for peace.  And its prizes.

UPDATE: The latest Nobel Peace Prize winner, Kenyan ecologist Wangari Maathai, is proving worthy of joining hands with other notable peace prize winners Yasser Arafat and Jimmy Carter.  She is now peacefully claiming the West deliberately created AIDS.  That should silence the critics who complained about awarding the prize to a mere environmentalist instead of an anti Westerner——read anti US.
