Nader's upset

By

Now this is the kind of dispute I like: on one side, Ralph Nader. On the other, the Congressional Black Caucus. The Washington Times got ahold of a letter sent by Nader to the CBC, demanding an apology for his treatment at a recent meeting. Nader claims that not only was he lured to the meeting under false pretences, but

"... exclamations at the meeting descended into vituperative, (e.g., Congresswoman [Carolyn Cheeks] Kilpatrick's tawdry, anatomical comment yelled loud enough so the press could hear it outside) and ending with the obscene, racist epithet repeated twice by Yale Law School alumnus Congressman Melvin Watt of North Carolina"

Good for Ralph! Nobody should be able to denigrate another person's race and remain immune from criticism. Least of all a graduate of Yale Law School. Here's what Nader alleges Watt said:

"You're just another arrogant white man — telling us what we can do — it's all about your ego — another [expletive] arrogant white man."
