Mosul calm; Stryker unit returns from Fallujah

By

A CENTCOM press release states that the situation in Mosul has quickly stabilized after terrorists launched a series of attacks on Iraqi police stations in the city.  The report says that since yesterday there have been only isolated attacks, and because the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment had already accomplished its mission in Fallujah, returned to rejoin its parent unit.

On November 14, the terrorists launched another attack on an Iraqi police station,

...but Special Iraqi Police Commandos from the Ministry of Interior in Baghdad and MNF Soldiers responded and repelled the attack.  Anti—Iraqi forces do not occupy or control any police stations in Mosul.

US and Iraqi forces continue to seek out and destroy any terrorist cells in the city.
