Chip Johnson is an honest and courageous columnist at the San Francisco Chronicle, a rare voice at that left—leaning journal. I have no idea what his personal politics are, beyond honesty, and that's the way I like my journalists. Today, he tells the story of yet another "community group" on the receiving end of foiundationa dn public monies, in which the insiders have helped themselves to large unsecured and undocumented "loans" — a practice which look suspiciously like looting.

The group is supposedly a police oversight agency. But it has diversified into supporting all kinds of suspicous "progressive" political causes.

A left wing political group becoming corrupted is no news, even in Oakland. But I am thankful for journalists liek Chip Johnson who aren't afraid to tell the truth. There are too few of them.
