Good news for the developing world
David Brooks celebrates the almost completely ignored (in the MSM) good news that economic growth in the devceloping countries is very vigorous, indeed. The gap between the world's rich and poor countries is actually narrowing.
The engine, of course, is the dreaded globalization, fought tooth and nail by the American and European left. People like Medea Benjamin of "Code Pink" and assorted other anti—capitalist groups who turn out to protest trade meeting, and who demand "fair" (i.e., controlled by ideologues) not free trade. The net effect of their policies would be to impoverish those who suddenly have a chance to improve their lot through the growth of gloabal free(er) trade.
Kudos to Brooks.
