Free speech for me, but not for thee

By

Liberals believe they have a right to do anything when they want, how they want. If informed they can't or must abide by certain restrictions they yelp and whine.  But the reverse is not true.

Take the holy matter of free speech, free expression.  In the last election cycle, Kerry posters in Bush country were usually untouched; alas, Bush posters in blue areas were often defaced, cars with Bush bumper stickers were sometimes damaged, and woe to an innocent sporting a Bush campaign button while wandering into blue territory.

Similar narrow minded behavior has occurred once again in one of the most narrow minded cities in America——San Francisco.  Yes, that very city which glories in its alternative lifestyles has once again proven how unhappy it is with dissent.

A group of pro life abortion opponents, bravely exercising their right of free speech there, were greeted by pro choice abortion believers attempting to suppress them with loud shouts while taunting them with condoms  The words of San Francisco government official expressed the city's true essence at real diversity.

San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano said he thought it was ironic that anti—abortion activists chose the liberal West Coast city as the site for their demonstration.

"I think they want to parlay that irony," Ammiano said. "What better place than San Francisco, not only as an act of provocation, but I think as an act of arrogance. But we know how to handle it."

So... in San Francisco the right of free association and the right of demonstration by some people is ironic. Even worse, it is provocative and arrogant.  But ominously they "know how to handle it."  Shades of Stalin.  (OK, OK I know this is a compliment  in San Frnacisco so how about shades of nazism?)
