Focus on the UN

John Kerry was clear in expressing his intention that should he become President a spirit of comity and amity would be created between the United Nations and his Administration. Now that he has been defeated, one of the beneficial consequences could be that Democrats in Congress might have more flexibility in criticizing the United Nations.

Here, left—leaning Senator Carl Levin from Michigan joins his Republican colleague Norm Coleman in sending a letter to Kofi Annan complaining of his obstructionist tactics during the Oil—for —Food (and Terror) scandal. An investigation is continuing which will expose that the United Nations Annan's close personal friends and son were implicated in theis ever—widening corruption scandal.
