Don't mention the superstate in Brussels

The newly Lord Black—less Telegraph of London has a solid editorial today in full agreement with the sentiments I expressed yesterday regarding the threat of the EU superstate, currently in abatement, due to struggles over voting rights for constituent nations in the new constitution.
The Telly quite properly points out that the real issue is not even being discussed: that the new EU will become a unitary state, superior in all respects to the former nation—states it replaces. This will not be federation, like the United States, or even Germany. Ancient rights, such as the British common law, will become meaningless footnotes in the history books. The new state will be all—powerful. And, as I pointed out yesterday, essentially unaccountable to anyone.
