Depleted Uranium: Round 3

By

The New York Daily News is not giving up in its crusade to deny US and UK GIs combat proven depleted uranium armor plating and armor piercing ammunition.  The paper's latest attempt at subverting returning soldiers has apparently taken a new twist.  Perhaps stung by my article  "Depleted uranium: the saga continues," the News realized that testing only nine soldiers out of 100—plus of a standard MP company just didn't provide the scientific validity it needed.

Now the Daily News reports that up to

800 G.I.s already have handed in their 24—hour urine samples, and hundreds more are waiting for appointments, according to a source at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Naturally, The Walter Reed source is not revealed. nor are the units, Iraqi garrison locations, and other pertinent data of the 800 GIs going through the urinalysis.  As the lab results from Walter Reed come back negative, the reaction from the paper is predictable: The Army's equipment is faulty.

Count on this follow—on story from the Daily News to be parroted on ABC radio and TV news spots, just as the original story was regurgitated on ABC affiliates around the country.  We should all thank the News for causing precious military medical resources to be diverted to satisfy the selfish aims of these anti—American scientists, whose only goal is to undermine US and UK war fighting capability.
