China buys Boeing

By

China has just signed a deal for 42 copies of the new Boeing jetliner, the 787 Dreamliner, for roughly $5 billion dollars. While the amount involved is small compared to the overall trade deficit with China, it is nonetheless significant. The Dreamliner continues to score important sales, while rival Airbus is not having much success with its comparable offerings.

The Boeing—Airbus face—off is one of the great dramas of business and technology in the world today. We look forward to continuing to follow the story.
