Chicago and Iraq

By

Bruce Thompson, whose work here is familiar to regular readers, makes some interesting comparisons between Chicago and Iraq, as far as casualties and fighting violence are concerned, on his own blog site Machias Privateer. The number of American casualties in Iraq is roughly the same as the number of murders in Chicago over the same period of time. In both places he finds reasons for optimism about reducing the violence. Bruce is also very positive about the coverage of both subjects by one talented Chicago journalist.
