Bush v Dean in NH poll

The New York Post today reported the results of a new poll in New Hampshire, which shows Bush handily defeating Dean, who does worse than even a generic Democrat.
In 2000, Bush beat gore by 6,000 votes in New Hampshire, slightly over 1%. Had he lost this state, or West Virginia or any other, Gore would have won. it is a traditional Republican state, that has become more competitive as "Massholes" have moved into the state to escape Massachusetts taxes (though still desiring public services.) If Dean is this far behind in New Hampshire, then the comment by a Bush campaign staffer this week, that Dean might only win 5 states, is worth paying attention to. I think a race will tighten some, but the Democrats are on a death march. Go Howard!

Welcome to the club! Those of us who have been saying that Ho—Ho portends disaster for the Dems are pleased that you finally agree with us. Of course, nothing is ever a sure thing in electoral politics, especially with 11 months to go, and serious effort is called for. Optimism tempered with panic is the way to win elections.
I am taking close note of the stop—Dean maneuvers underway. Weasely Clark mentioned on Tuesday or Wednesday that he would welcome Hillary as a veep running mate. Hillary doesn't rule it out. And now Weasely admits that he called Bubba "just to say hi" right after Gore announced his endorsement of Little Howard. Clearly, the Clinton Machine is in a panic over losing control of the Dem party apparatus, and wants to pump—up the man in the loose—fitting suits. I think it is brilliant on the part of Hillary to affect modesty regarding the veepship. If the ticket loses, she doesn't get the blame, and picks up many points for her humility. She also gets experience running on a national ticket on her own.
Now that Kerry is cracking—up, and Edwards has shown an inability to transcend his shyster insincerity, there are no serious alternatives, other than the Clark nut bar. This will be an interesting struggle. Clintonites in the media are beginning to turn their poison pens on Ho—Ho. Watch for more attacks on him from the "everybody lies about sex" pack.
