Apology, Mr. Unger?
Vanity Fair reporter Craig Unger, author of the Bush—bashing book, "House of Bush, House of Saud", has charged that the Bush Administration expedited the departure of several prominent Saudis in the days after 9/11 via airplanes during a time when he said that American airspace was "locked down." He also stated that they had not been interviewed properly.
He alleged this showed undue influence of the Saudis on the Bush White House.
Well, now an independent commission has held that these flights were handled properly by the Bush Administration and that screening by law enforcement officials and that the flights were dealt with in a professional manner. THE FAA maintained that the "lock down" was lifted before the flights took off.
Apologies, Mr. Unger?
