A Reader Responds to Dean's Revenge

By

As an aging (63) Deanie Baby, I rather liked your article on Dean's Revenge.  However, neither I nor most of the Deanies I know have any trouble articulating what Kerry's dirty tricks were.

First wave:

push polling in Iowa, late night robo calls to identified Dean supporters' homes, Dean—staff impersonators directing the "troops" to bogus locations, sticking confederate flags on cars with Dean stickers; this continued into New Hampshire.

Second wave, more recently revealed:

his major fundraiser and major creep, donating  Toricelli $ to the Bin Laden ads in Iowa, in conjunction with Gephardt, and the Club for Growth ( a republican 527).

Third wave:

(this isn't dirty tricks, it's just stinky) his funding. For the past 15 years he has been the biggest taker of special interest money in the Senate).  At present the media (the leaders among other things of Faux Gnus) backing him, plus the revelations that he's been very quid quo pro all along with his funders (and goodness: got 98% positive coverage by his backers in the media in the weeks leading up to IA and NH).

No one has to go very far in this search: it's all been available on the blog.  I think we know very well why most us hate his guts.  But most of all, having spent our dime with a real straight shooter makes it that much harder to get into the establishment, even if its "our" establishment, garbage can with the slime, one more time.
