After Ferguson: Yeah, Let's Have a Conversation Mr. President
The liberal ladies at Thanksgiving dinner were muttering about a new “conversation” about race. Bless them; their 30 million liberal hearts beat as one with President Obama's post-Ferguson remarks:
“We’ve seen young people who were organizing, and people beginning to have real conversations about how do we change the situation so that there’s more trust between law enforcement and some of these communities. And those are necessary conversations to have,” the president said Tuesday.
Conversations, Mr. President? Here's a conversation for you. We've been having this liberal “conversation” about race, man and boy, for about half a century, in which, nobody gets a word in edgewise except white liberal hypocrites and black racists, and about which most Americans are fed up to the back teeth. And where has it got us? It's got us from the race riots of the Sixties in the inner cities – from which the inner cities never recovered – to a nice little race riot in the St. Louis suburbs. And the significant thing about the Ferguson race riot is that the white Democratic governor of the state of Missouri didn't dare send in the National Guard until the day after the rioters had burned the place down. Because liberal conversations about race.
That's some result from fifty years of liberal race politics. The governor doesn't dare keep the peace until after the peace has been broken by “peaceful protesters,” the “young people who were organizing” to make sure that any “trust between law enforcement and some of these communities” was utterly destroyed.
Yay liberals! We seem to be returning to the policing of the Seventies, when the police, responding to liberal activism, just spent their shifts bulking up in the donut shop. It took Bill Bratton in the 1980s and Rudy Guiliani in the 1990s to get the cops back on the street actually marching toward the sound of the guns in the high-crime areas -- and reduce crime.
For you and the liberal ladies, Mr. President, here's another conversation.
Here's the conversation that every non-liberal in the nation is having right now. They are saying: so this is what electing the first black president is all about. We progress from riots in the inner cities to riots in the suburbs.
Here's what homeowners are thinking. They are thinking: as soon as blacks get within ten blocks of my house I'm moving before the riots come to a street near me and my home is worth bupkis.
But I have a particular conversation that I want to have with the folks in the late lamented Emerging Democratic Majority. To Hispanics, I want to say: this is where 50 years of being the little darlings of the liberals gets you. Riots and mayhem and TANF and SNAP and EBT and fatherless boys and crime and thuggery. Go ahead, Hispanics: get the Dems to deliver on amnesty; then dump them. You'll do just fine in the Republican Party.
To women I want to say: have you heard from your liberal great-aunts that aren't grandmothers because they never had any children? Or the women that got drugged into the Sixties sexual revolution and are still angry about the sexual abuse they suffered? And the “choice” that means you mourn the child you aborted for the rest of your life? Women are also the little darlings of the liberals for years. What difference, at this point, does it make?
To the youth I want to say: When liberals tempt you with talk of pot legalization and gay marriage and climate change, do you understand you are being suckered? Do you know how much you are exploited by the swingeing taxes on labor and now ObamaCare? Do you realize how much you have been shortchanged by a lousy government education? Do you realize how the unjust student debt game -- from which there is no escape in bankruptcy -- ruins your life so that identity-studies college professors and sexual-assault administrators can live the Life of Riley? Liberals are always grooming the youth; but most of us are revolted by the smarmy flattery and don't get in the liberal's car.
Yeah. Let's have a conversation.
Last week, in writing about the midterms, I predicted that eventually the Democrat retreat from President Obama would turn into a rout. Did I miss that one: it only took a couple of days for Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to throw down his rifle and whine about ObamaCare.
Here's another prediction. When President Cruz is inaugurated in January 2017 it will be because average Americans of every hue will be running away from the SJW language of “conversations” and “organizing” and “communities,” just like they did in after the riots in 1968 when they elected Richard Nixon president.
