Engage with Hamas?
The Washington Post delivered the jihadist propaganda goods with the bizarre ranting of Ahmed Yousef in a piece earlier this week entitled Engage With Hamas: We Earned Our Support. The article mirrors the recent blathering of Jimmy Carter (who possibly deserves a singular place in history for being a worse ex-president than he was a president) who called the U.S. policy of not supporting the Islamic terrorist, group Hamas "criminal".
Yousef hurls down the challenge:
"Some critics raise the red flag of "al-Qaeda" and say that Hamas and parliament are a stalking horse for Salafi jihadists. I defy them to demonstrate one instance in which Hamas's military structure has struck against any force outside the theater of the occupation."
Well, okay, maybe I can't prove they did it, but I think I will get an A for effort. Ahmed, meet Saddam document IISP-2003-00026588. (Shameless plug: You can read about it in Both In One Trench: Saddam's support to Islamic terrorism.) This document which was captured in Iraq and released to the public by the Department of Defense shows that Hamas leaders Mashal (in Syria) and Dr. Rantisi (ushered unto the other side by an Apache helicopter) were beating down Saddam's door begging him to let Hamas come to Baghdad and "conduct suicide operations" against the Americans. Let's be clear here; this document shows that Hamas asked Saddam to let them kill your sons and daughters.
The only thing really shocking about this is that anybody (for example Carter) still pretends shock at the thought of radicalized Palestinians. For those of you who have not figured out the obvious by now the Palestinian population has been radicalized for some time and many (not all of course but a vast number of them) support the Salafi jihadists of which Yousef laughs off comparison.
Of course, not every Palestinian terrorist can be traced back to Hamas. There is a legacy of "secular" Palestinian terrorism. But we can show conclusively that the same Islamic radicalization that fuels Hamas has sent many a young Palestinian to jihad against the west including the US.

Is it a coincidence that Palestinian Shaker al-Abssi, leader of Fatah al-Islam declared they would "fight Jews, Americans and their allies" from his hidey-hole inside a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon? His men had murdered Lebanese soldiers before being chased to the camp.
This recent fighting in Lebanon also revealed the plans for a "Lebanese 9-11". Fatah al-Islam had put a terror cell in place to conduct massive attacks to destroy Lebanon's tourism industry believed by many to be under the guidance of Syrian intelligence. Its' leader al-Abssi is believed to have run a terror training camp in Syria for jihadists operating in Iraq. Considering that Hamas leader Mashal is hosted by the Syrian government in Damascus - from which he asked Saddam for permission to send Hamas fighters to kill Americans - it is not so hard to believe that another Palestinian terror leader was doing just that.
Is it a coincidence that the Millennium plotters hid their chemical drums (for a WMD attack) inside a Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan?
Did these guys come from Hamas? Does it matter? They are all Palestinian Islamic extremists who have no interest in finding peaceful solutions when a suicide vest will do just fine. Just as Dr Rantisi was radicalized by the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood in medical school in Egypt so was Ayman al Zawahiri. One led Hamas, the other leads al Qaeda along with Usama bin Laden. The same brand of anti-western, anti-Christian, anti-American hate motivates Hamas just as it does al Qaeda. Do not let Yousef fool you.
Remember those Palestinians dancing in the streets on 9-11?
Shame on you Washington Post for delivering this jihadist propaganda straight to an American audience with no attempt to provide context that such propaganda is just as much a terror weapon as the suicide vest. Thanks, Post for strapping one on for the team, the jihad team.
