Sister Pamela, you go, girl!

I love Pamela Geller.  However, when Bill O'Reilly and conservative Laura Ingraham said it was foolish of Pam to insult over a billion Muslims by hosting a “Draw Muhammad” contest, I thought perhaps they were right.

Muslims live under an Islamic legal system called sharia law, which prohibits drawing any image of their prophet, Muhammad.

Rush Limbaugh sided with Pamela.  Rush pointed out that while the mainstream media and pundits want us to be sensitive to this rule of sharia, that same media flaunts and promotes homosexual marriage, which offends Muslims.  Muslims put homosexuals to death.

My feisty part-Cherokee, mostly Irish wife Mary chimed in, “Aren't you the guy always writing about how frustrated you are with people on our side walking on eggshells, not pushing back against the evil that is threatening to overtake our country?”

There are incidents that confirm that sharia law is gaining a foothold, overriding constitutional law in our country.  Mary strongly supports Pamela's push-back against efforts to impose sharia law in America.  I guess Mary and I have been happily married for 40 years because I learned a long time ago to admit when she is right.

Pamela Geller was making a point with her Draw Muhammad contest.  She is saying, this is our country, America.  We will not allow anyone to muzzle our constitutional right of free speech.

The criticism of Pamela coming from both sides of the aisle reminds me of what always happens to courageous conservatives who do what frustrated folks on our side claim to want: someone to boldly stand up for our principles, our values, and the Constitution.  But when the MSM pit bulls begin ripping the brave conservative apart, we join the left attacking the conservative for not crossing every t and dotting every i.

Two examples are Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin.  While I expect the left to verbally beat them up, unfortunately, I have heard conservatives ripping into Cruz and Palin for not mastering walking on water.

Folks, no politician/activist is perfect.  Like you and me, they are flawed human beings.  But at their core, the Gellers, Cruzes, and Palins of our movement have the right stuff.  They are a blessing, and I thank God for them.

So to sister Pamela, I say, you go, girl!  We are praying that God protects you.
